    Isle of Wight Family Research Pages: All of the links below will contain many additional names of Isle of Wight residents. You will also note close family connections with residents in the adjacent counties of Surry and Nansemond. Often property owned by one individual might cross county lines – as they still do today. Since Southampton County was created from Isle of Wight about 1750, the people who later show up in Southampton did not migrate, but had county boundaries created around them.
