A Plan for a Jail in 1866
     Stone foundation, wood walls, 32 feet long, 18 feet wide, made of white oak logs, 11 feet 6 inches high.
     Floor to be made of white oak logs with iron bars, top made of wooden shingles.
     The old log jail was located near the present site of the present jail. The log jail burned in 1891. There was a board house in front of the log jail for the jailor's residence.
